The Content Rules and Guidelines of the wiki are as follows:

General[]

  • All content should relate to Idle Skilling.
  • All content needs to be accurate. the Idle Skilling Wiki aims to provide reliable information. In particular, adding speculation and fan content to articles is not allowed.
  • All content needs to be verifiable. Other editors need to be able to check and verify it.
  • All content needs to be informative. Information which is only of interest to the writer or to other editors (as opposed to readers) should not be included in articles.
  • All content needs to relate to the games as delivered by the developers; user modifications are not covered by this wiki.
  • All content needs to abide by copyright regulations. Generally, content from other sites should not be copied unless permission has been granted. Do not upload images, scans or illegally-obtained information.
  • It is not allowed to create red links that have no relation to Idle Skilling and its articles. Red links that are related to Idle Skilling are allowed if the article is intended for creation.
  • Comments that are considered spam will be deleted by the staff and are grounds for blocking.
  • Pages that do not fulfill the content criteria should be redirected or deleted.

Page protection[]

  • Most pages should remain unprotected, exceptions being critical parts of the site. This includes pages like the main page or widely used templates.
  • Articles that are frequent targets of vandalism or pages that are the "battleground" for an edit war. If a set of editors repeatedly reverts each other's changes, an administrator may protect the page to encourage them to resolve the dispute by way of communication.
  • User pages may be protected at the request of the respective user.
  • Page protection should only be applied as long as necessary. Mainspace content articles should not be protected indefinitely.

Redundancy[]

There should only be a single article (or section of an article) where a given topic is presented in full detail. Other pages should link to the page or transclude the details instead of repeating them. Only information that is directly relevant to the subject of a given article should be included in that article.

Spoiler policy[]

The wiki in its entirety is considered a spoiler, and in most instances do not need to be marked in articles.
